Petro-Canada - The HT process

The process of severe hydrotreating (HT) allows the elimination of polar and aromatic compounds of crude oil giving as results a crystal-clear base oil with a purity of 99.9%.

As a result, HT products are superior in performance than refined by the conventional method and behave similar to synthetic oils such polyalphaolefin (PAO).
